MOLD POWDER FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING OF STEEL, AND CONTINUOUS CASTING METHOD OF STEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide mold powder for continuous casting of steel containing Al and Ti, which mold powder can produce a product having excellent contamination-free property, no powder defects, and high quality. SOLUTION: In the mold powder for continuous casting of steel, an active amount of SiO2is 0.4 or less, and CaO*/SiO2is within the range from 0.6 to 1.2. The mold powder contains 30% or less of CaO*, 10 to 35% of SiO2, 7 to 25% of Al2O3, 2 to 10% of F, and further, 10% or less of MgO, 10% or less of ZrO2, 10% or less of SrO, and has a viscosity of 2 poise or more at 1,300°C, and a solidifying temperature within the range from 1,000 to 1,200°C.
