Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source unit in which a reflecting mirror unit can be miniaturized by making effective use of the light output from a lamp, and by minimizing an electric insulation distance of an reflecting mirror rear face without obstructing the effective reflection area of the reflecting mirror. SOLUTION: In the light source unit which has a concave reflecting mirror, and a both-end sealed type discharge lamp and in which one sealing part of the discharge lamp is fixed to the base member wherein the base member is fixed to an opening part of a neck part of the concave reflecting mirror, the outer reed directly protruding from the one sealing part of the discharge lamp or a feed line connected to the outer reed is anchored in the base member or a terminal member held by the base member.
