Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly restart an engine when restart conditions are satisfied during automatic stop of the engine. SOLUTION: This engine starter of the vehicle is provided with an automatic stop control means 93 for bringing an automatic gear shift mechanism 50 into a neutral condition when automatic stop conditions of the engine are satisfied while the vehicle runs to stop the engine automatically, adjusting supply pressure of working fluid supplied into a flow passage connected with friction elements 67 to 71 of the automatic gear shift mechanism 50, and performing precharge control for filling working fluid into the flow passage until it reaches predetermined fluid presssure and a learning control means 94 for detecting behavior of the engine when performing automatic stop control and performing learning control for setting supply pressure of working fluid during precharge control to a proper value based on the result of detection.
