Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing water-insoluble glucomannan gel particles useful as a scrub agent or an exfoliating agent for use in cosmetics and sanitary cleaning compositions. SOLUTION: The method for producing glucomannan gel particles comprises the steps of: (a) dissolving a powder rich in glucomannan into water to form a glucomannan solution, (b) mixing the formed solution with ethanol to precipitate glucomannan, (c) allowing the glucomannan precipitated in water/ethanol to react with an alkali to convert it to a water-containing irreversible gel, (d) separating the gel from the liquid, (e) drying the separated gel and (f) pulverizing the dried gel.
