Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device which can prevent a misdetection from occurring when a defective element of a recording head is detected, cut detection time and facilitate the operation to specify the defective recording element. SOLUTION: A rough adjustment pattern is used for checking the approximate position of the whole pattern and clearly defining the positional relationship between the rough adjustment pattern and a fine adjustment pattern without misregister. In addition, the precise corresponding relationship between the fine adjustment pattern position and each recording element position is clarified.
