Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely reinforce a tumble flow inside a cylinder, and to restrict occurrence of pumping loss in an internal combustion engine, which generates a tumble flow inside the cylinder. SOLUTION: A control device for internal combustion engine is provided with an intake valve 36 for feeding gas into the cylinders of the internal combustion engine 10 by opening in the predetermined timing, a variable air flow control valve 34 provided in an intake passage 12 of the internal combustion engine 10 to control flow of the intake air fed into the cylinders of the internal combustion engine 10, and a control means for controlling opening of the variable air flow control valve 34 in response to opening of the intake valve 36. Since flow of the intake air can be controlled in response to opening of the intake valve 36, an ideal tumble flow can be formed inside the cylinders, and occurrence of pumping loss can be restricted.
