Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for coating paper having excellent solvent resistance on a resin-coated surface, excellent in blocking resistance and water resistance and an undercoat agent for release paper. SOLUTION: The resin composition for coating paper contains a water-based polymer dispersion containing a polymer [A] produced by carrying out an emulsion polymerization of a monomer component (a) comprising a carboxyl group-having unsaturated ethylenic monomer (a-1) and other monomers and giving a film having ≤50 wt.% water absorption rate from the water-based polymer dispersion.
