METHOD FOR PRODUCING ALCOHOL FROM OLEFIN BY HYDROFORMYLATION AND HYDROGENATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a production method so as not to almost need operation interruption in order to avoid operation interruption which becomes stop of production and restriction of expense in a method for producing an alcohol by carrying out hydroformylation of an olefin or an olefin mixture in the presence of a cobalt catalyst, separating the catalyst and successively hydrogenating the product. SOLUTION: The method for producing the alcohol comprises passing a mixture to be hydrogenated through an adsorption bed in which a cobalt compound is retained before the mixture is charged into a hydrogenation reactor.
