PIEZOELECTRIC TRANSFORMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric transformer whose mechanical strength is high, whose energy conversion efficiency is satisfactory, and whose cost performance is excellent by configuring this piezoelectric transformer as a cylindrical structure around which a shield-shaped piezoelectric ceramic member formed with a plurality of linear internal electrodes orthogonal to the lengthwise direction is wound. SOLUTION: This piezoelectric transformer 1 sets a plurality of linear internal electrodes 5 for input orthogonal to the lengthwise direction of a sheet-shaped piezoelectric ceramic 4 in one partial region divided in the lengthwise direction, and sets a plurality of linear internal electrodes 6 for output orthogonal to the lengthwise direction in the other partial region. Thus, the piezoelectric transformer 1 can be obtained with excellent transformation characteristic, using one wavelength resonance mode in the winding axial direction of a cylindrical piezoelectric ceramic structural body having a structure around which sheet-shaped piezoelectric ceramic formed with a plurality of linear internal electrodes orthogonal to the lengthwise direction.
