| Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lower belt type fixing device which is suitable for forming a full color image of high image quality without generating dirt even after leaving the fixing device as it is. SOLUTION: Since a cleaning means is separated from the surface of a heating/fixing member when the fixing device is left as it is without performing image formation, dirt is not generated even after leaving the fixing device as it is. Further since developer stuck to the surface of the heating/fixing member is cleaned off before generating a contact state that a pressurizing member is depressed to the heating/fixing member, the developer is not transferred from the surface of the heating/fixing member to the pressurizing member and generation of dirt on the rear surface of a recording sheet can be prevented.
