| Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an infrared remote control system and method via a network in which convenience in remote control and automatic control can be improved. SOLUTION: There are provided: an infrared signal receiving means for receiving an infrared signal transmitted to equipment to be controlled; a control content interpretation means for interpreting control contents by receiving, via the network, the infrared signal received by the infrared signal receiving means; an equipment database configured by previously storing infrared signals corresponding to equipment to be controlled; a controlled equipment control means for controlling the equipment to be controlled by transmitting a selected control signal from the equipment database to an infrared signal transmitting means via the network; and the infrared signal transmitting means for transmitting an infrared signal to the equipment to be controlled.
