Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for attaining accurate and highly reproducible quantitative value on the action and/or effect of a test substance on a cell. SOLUTION: The method for the evaluation of the action and/or effect of a test substance on a cell contains (1) a step to acquire a control curve function F(t) of an index of a cell number in the absence of the test substance to time and a test curve function G(t) of the index of a cell number in the presence of the test substance to time, (2) a step to calculate the integrated value of the formula (F(t)-G(t)) in a prescribed time interval, (3) a step to divide the integrated value by the prescribed time interval to obtain an area value and (4) a step to evaluate the action and/or effect of the test substance based on the area value.
