DEVICE, METHOD, PROGRAM AND RECORDING MEDIUM FOR EVALUATING REAL TIME PERFORMANCE OF POINTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system where input data from a joy stick are supplied through the transmission path of a predetermined protocol for evaluating the real time performance of picture display as a whole system including the transmission path from the point of view of whether or not it is sufficient for a user to use the system. SOLUTION: Target spots P1 to P4 arranged corresponding to the moving direction of a pointer by a pointing device having an operating part for moving a pointer to a plurality of directions are displayed on the picture of an image display means. When input data from the pointing device are supplied through the transmission path of a predetermined protocol, and a pointer 20 reaches the target spots P1 to P4 on the picture according to this, the real time performance of picture display is evaluated by using a required time until the pointer 20 reaches the target spots as an index.
