SLIDING DOOR DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding door device having a small ratio of the width to the height which can be smoothly opened and closed, especially which can be provided in a location with a narrow frontage which requires a shutter box. SOLUTION: The sliding door device is provided with at least two sliding doors 11 of narrow width, and the sliding doors are suspended from a rail 20 within a transom 13 and opened/closed through the medium of a suspension frame 21. The sliding doors 11 have the ratio of the width to the height of one-fifth or less, and the rail 20 has a vertical side, a top surface inclined with an acute angle from the top end of the side, and an undersurface inclined with an acute angle from the lower end of the side. Then a rail slider 27 comprised of a linear bearing is attached to the suspension frame 21, and the linear bearing of the rail slider 27 is provided at least in two positions. That is, the position where the linear bearing rolls on the top surface of the rail 20 while receiving a load from the sliding door 11, and the position where the linear bearing rolls on the undersurface of the rail 20 for steady brace of the sliding door 11 in the moving direction.
