Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition that exhibits sufficient fluidity and high adsorption onto a substrate, to provide a magnetic recording medium that uses the composition as a lubricant and causes little trouble, to provide a head slider and to provide a magnetic recording apparatus. SOLUTION: The composition comprises a fluorine-containing polyether represented by formula (1), wherein, in formula (1), each of (p) and (q) represents an optional integer independently of other symbols in the formula. The composition can also be prepared by reacting a polymer represented by formula (2) with a glycidole, wherein, in formula (2), each of (p) and (q) represents an optional integer independently of other symbols in the formula.
