Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a CAN network system capable of preventing all nodes connected to a CAN from detecting a fault on the occurrence of the fault such as one side breakage of branch lines of the CAN, and finding out an actually faulty node. SOLUTION: Supposing that a breakage fault of one side line of the branch lines of a node 1 takes place and a node 2 is a victim, the nodes 1, 2 cannot receive a status information notice from a main master node 6, discriminate the occurrence of a communication fault, inhibit communication stoppage discrimination and thereafter stop the CAN communication. On the other hand, when receiving no status information from the faulty node 1 and the victim node 2, the main master node 6 discriminates the occurrence of an inter-node communication fault, and specifies the faulty node by individually applying alive confirmation to the node the fault state of which the master node 6 discriminates.
