OPTICAL DISK DRIVE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk drive of which the reliability for preventing a recording error is improved, and to provide a control method thereof, by reducing the amplitude fluctuation of a wobble signal and suppressing the deterioration of reading performance caused by the amplitude fluctuation of the wobble signal. SOLUTION: This control method of the optical disk drive includes a control section for controlling the amplitude of the wobble signal, and by this control section, the amplitudes of wobble signals at a plurality of positions are measured (S11) on an optical disk recording surface, and a gain to be decided (S12) on the basis of the obtained wobble signal amplitude and positional information of the positions on the optical disk recording surface where the wobble signal amplitude is measured, are held (S14) on a table for gain setting so that the respective information are associated with each other.
