WIRE CARRYING AND CUTTING-OFF MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire cutting-off machine which does not cause scratches on cut-off blanks, and also does not damage a cutter. SOLUTION: The wire cutting-off machine comprises a first gripper arranged on a base portion so as to grip and release a wire material, a second gripper arranged on the base portion so as to reciprocate with respect to the first gripper in order to carry the wire material for its every advancing stroke by the distance of the stroke of the reciprocation by gripping the wire material in the advancing stroke and by releasing the wire material in the returning stroke, a cutter arranged on the base portion so as to cut-off the wire material by reciprocating in the direction crossing the carried wire material, and a drive control section for controlling the drive of the gripping and releasing of the wire material by means of the first gripper and the second gripper, the reciprocating motion of the second gripper, and the reciprocating motion of the cutter. The first gripper is held on the base portion so as to reciprocate in the carrying and returning directions of the wire material. Before the cutter returns after having cut-off the wire material in its advance, the first gripper moves in the returning direction together with the wire material held by the first gripper.
