BENDING METHOD AND BENDING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bending method and a bending device for preventing production of rejected products, improving the working efficiency and reducing the burden on a worker by correctly determining whether or not a workpiece butting part is adequately abutted on a back gage butting part even when the butting part to the back gage of the workpiece has an arbitrary shape. SOLUTION: The bending device has a plurality of touch checking sensors S1, S2, S3, S4and S5to check the touch with a workpiece W on one back gage butting part 5, and also has a control means to drive a ram 1 under the condition that all the automatically or manually designated sensors out of the touch checking sensors S1, S2, S3, S4and S5are turned ON, and a foot pedal 6 is turned ON when the workpiece is butted.
