Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant resin composition which does not produce a halogen-based gas, when molded or combusted, and has flame-retardant characteristics and characteristics such as high mechanical strength, flexibility, abrasion resistance, and scratch resistance, in more detail, to provide the flame-retardant resin composition which is useful as a coating material for automotive cables, electric source cords, equipment electric wires and the like. SOLUTION: This flame retardant resin composition is characterized by compounding a resin (A) comprising the following constituents (a) to (e) with a metal hydroxide (B) and, if necessary, an organopolysiloxane (C). The constituents (a) to (e) are (a) polypropylene resin, (b) a mixed styrenic thermoplastic elastomer comprising a styrenic thermoplastic elastomer (b2) and a modified styrenic thermoplastic elastomer (b1), (c) linear low density polyethylene resin, (d) an ethylene-fatty acid vinyl ester-vinyl alcohol copolymer, and (e) ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, respectively.
