PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lamp device capable of improving connection fixation strength of the lamp device, of lowering temperature in lighting it, and of reducing a cost, and allowing the lamp device diversified into various applications recently to be easily fixed not only to a printed wiring board but also to various places; and to provide a lamp lighting device. SOLUTION: This lamp device 5 is provided with: a lamp 1 composed by arranging, in a glass bulb 2, a filament 4 connected to lead wires 3, 3 and by forming a sealing part 21 at an end; and a socket 5 having a bulb mounting hole 52 of the lamp 1 formed at the center part on the upper side 5a, having the lower side 5b formed continuously to the upper side 5a and forming a thin rectangular solid, having engaging recessed parts 56 formed at symmetrical positions on the outside surface facing to the upper side 5a or the lower side 5b, and composed by extendedly extracting, from a bottom part 57, the pair of lead wires 3, 3 led out from the lamp 1 mounted to the mounting hole 52 to attach them to the outside surfaces opposite to each other.
