MANUFACTURING METHOD OF CAGE FOR ROLLER BEARING AND CAGE FOR ROLLER BEARING PRODUCED BY THE MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of scrap generated at the time of fabricating in a cage-pocket fabricating process so as to raise the yield. SOLUTION: The pocket fabricating process P-1 comprises: a first step S-1 of forming a number of guide through holes 41 for forming window portions in a band-like plate 40 in the longitudinal direction thereof; a second step S-2 of cutting off both crosswise edges 40a of the band-like plate in the direction of thickness so as to form concave grooves 42, the crosswise edges 40a being perpendicular to an extension line passing the center of the guide hole for forming the window portion; a third step S-3 of punching out the window portion 44 while providing convex portions 43 inwardly projecting along the concave grooves so as to form both the edges 40a in crooked states by the concave grooves and the convex portions projecting in the window portion; a fourth step S-4 of extending both the edges in the crooked states to be parallel to each other so as to enlarge the window portion in the widthwise and lengthwise directions; and a fifth step S-5 of pressing the band-like plate from both sides thereof in the widthwise direction so as to determine the widthwise size and the column configuration of the window portion.
