Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode assembly of a fuel cell capable of efficiently draining water produced in power generation. SOLUTION: The membrane electrode assembly of the fuel cell is formed in such a way that a cathode catalyst layer 16, a cathode primary coat 17, and a cathode diffusion layer 18 are stacked on the cathode side of an electrolyte membrane, an oxygen gas passage 24 is installed on the outside of the cathode diffusion layer 18, and each layer and the electrolyte membrane are arranged in the gravity acting direction. The membrane electrode assembly of the fuel cell contains a conductive material and a water repellent material in the primary coat 17, and the ratio of the water repellent material is gradually increased in the gravity acting direction.
