ELEVATOR DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device with a smaller drive mechanism, and a higher degree of layout freedom. SOLUTION: In this elevator device, a car 2 and a counterweight 18 are driven along guide rails in an elevator shaft 1 by a hoisting machine 14. It is provided with a car side first return wheel 10, a car side second return wheel 11, a car side third return wheel 12, and a counterweight side return wheel 16 provided at an upper part of the elevator shaft 1, a first rope 5 wound from the car side third return wheel 12 to the counterweight side return wheel 16 without passing through a sheave 13 of the hoisting machine 14, and a second rope 7 wound from the car side third return wheel 12 through the sheave 13 of the hoising machine 14 to the counterweight side return wheel 16 to drive the car 2 and the counterweight 18.
