Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device 1 to cut a work having a connected/disconnected portion using a cutting insert 12 having a cutting edge, held by a tool holder 15, and supported by a shim 13 optionally. SOLUTION: The cutting method and device is configured so that a coolant able to contain liquid nitrogen passes through a passage to be introduced to a cooling passage 16 provided near the cutting edge. The cooling passage may be located under the cutting edge and behind, or in a part under and behind the cutting edge. The coolant collides with the wall surface of the cooling passage near the cutting edge and evaporates partially, and thereby cools the cutting insert. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
