ANTENNA DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SELECTING ANTENNA ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna device capable of rapidly selecting an optimum receiving antenna element in a short time although there is the controversial point that the reception levels of all antenna elements must be measured when the optimum antenna element is selected and the efficiency of a processing is deteriorated and the time is required in a conventional circular array antenna and a method for selecting the antenna element. SOLUTION: In the antenna device, a controller 3 measures the reception levels regarding the half antenna elements 11 continuously arranged from an arbitrary position in an antenna section 1 in which a plurality of the antenna elements are arrayed circularly at regular intervals, and uses the antenna element 11 having the largest reception level in the half antenna elements as "a candidate 1". In the antenna device, the controller 3 specifies the antenna element 11 in the relationship of a point symmetry with the "the first candidate" to the center of the antenna section 1 as "the candidate 2", and measures the reception level of "the candidate 2". In the antenna device, the reception levels of "the candidate 1" and "the candidate 2" are compared, and the candidate having the larger reception level is selected as the optimum receiving antenna element.
