Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for synthesizing a polyestercarbonate, using, as a monomer, a new phenolic compound derived from a natural essential oil, such as citronella oil, which is inexpensive, is non-toxic, and is a reproducible resource. SOLUTION: This method for producing the polyestercarbonate comprises copolymerizing a dihydric phenol such as bisphenol A and a carbonate precursor with a phenolic compound having two or more functional groups whose one or more are phenol portions, under reaction conditions.
