Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a shaft seal of a variable displacement compressor of an air conditioner for a vehicle by control. SOLUTION: The air conditioner for the vehicle is provided with a variable displacement swash plate compressor for compressing a coolant; and a control device for controlling the compressor. The compressor is driven by an engine of the vehicle and is further usually always connected to the engine. The control device controls the compressor such that the compressor is turned ON and operated for one minute with a previously determined time interval of 10 minutes when the compressor is in the OFF state and the revolution number of the compressor is predetermined 6,000 rpm or higher.
