Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide side guide rollers and a steel strip winder which prevent weaving even when a very thin steel strip is wound and which do not cause a dog-ear at the edges of the steel strip to be wound or a flaw on the surface of a coil of the steel strip wound. SOLUTION: The side guide roller is manufactured by providing a meshy metal on the surface of a roller base material composed of an elastic body. The steel strip winder is installed so that at least one pair of the side guide rollers are positioned at a winding commencement contact point between the coil of the steel strip wound on the winder and the steel strip to be wound on the coil. Further, the side guide rollers are installed so as to be movable in the direction of the steel strip width, whereby the side guide rollers can touch both side edges of the steel strip to be wound.
