Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric appliance in which it is not necessary to exchange a printing means such as an ink ribbon, for example, and a method of examining operation of such an electric appliance. SOLUTION: To a CPU (central processing unit) 1 that controls the whole, there are connected a printing means 3 comprised of an ink ribbon, for example, a display means 5, an input means 5, a communication means 6 for functioning as FAX, an examination function control means 7, an examination item storage means 8 for storing objects to be examined as examination items, an examination result storage means 9 for storing propriety of operation as an examination result, an examination implementation confirming means 10 for confirming whether or not all the examination items are examined, an examination result judging means 11 for judging presence/non-presence of abnormality in operation from the examination result, and an identification information storage means 12 for storing identification information.
