Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly feed oil to a stem end part at an upper end of a valve stem, prevent abnormal abrasion at the stem end part to restrict variation of clearance, and prevent discomfort due to mechanical noise. SOLUTION: In this valve system for an internal combustion engine, a cylindrical valve lifter is provided to be slidably held by a cylinder head at an upper end of the valve stem of an intake/discharge valve, and a shim is disposed on a top surface of the valve lifter, with a cam applied to the shim. A projection is provided on one of the valve lifter and the shim, and an engagement hole part to be engaged with the projection is provided in the other of the valve lifter and the shim. An oil hole part is provided to penetrate the projection in a vertical direction. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
