Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing isoquinolinesulfonyl chloride by completely suppressing generation of chlorides of the isoquinoline ring in isoquinolinesulfonic acid. SOLUTION: The method for producing isoquinolinesulfonyl chloride is to react isoquinolinesulfonic acid with thionyl chloride in the presence of a chelating agent. The another method for producing isoquinolinesulfonyl chloride is to mix thionyl chloride with an aromatic compound and react them in the presence of a chelating agent, subsequently react the reaction mixture with isoquinolinesulfonic acid.
