PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide cosmetics, when forming curly hair style, capable of keeping curl-forming activity for a long time, reconditioning/restoring damage of human damaged hair, if necessary, decreasing starchiness and crispiness to the utmost and imparting tense/stiff feeling, and, when brushing the hair of a dog and the like, preventing pill-generation. SOLUTION: The cosmetics are compounded with (a) hydrolysed keratin having 25,000-35,000 average molecular weight and (b) a protein composition having 8,000-12,000 molecular weight and comprising protein having 11,000 average molecular weight and protein having 9,700 average molecular weight measured by gel filtration column chromatography and separated/purified from wool or human hair.
