CONTOUR CORRECTION CIRCUIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contour correction circuit capable of acquiring a clear, natural and beautiful image by making the resolution of the image satisfactory and suppressing glares of the image caused by excessive correction of a contour correction signal. SOLUTION: A contour correction signal generating part 111 forms a first contour correction signal from a luminance signal, and a nonlinearity processing part 112 extracts the first contour correction signal and applies nonlinear processing of gain to form a second contour correction signal. A phase adjusting part 113 performs phase adjustment of the first contour correction signal. An adder 115 generates the final contour correction signal by adding the first contour correction signal subjected to phase adjustment to the second contour correction signal subjected to nonlinear processing of gain.
