Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce storage burden and management burden by effectively recycling minor actinoid (MA), to perform nuclear transformation to an effective nuclide while suppressing bad effects of the reactivity loss by MA addition, to improve the fact that enrichment of fuel is axially and complicatedly adjusted, and to make diversion to atomic bomb material following Pu extraction disadvantageous by increasing spontaneously emitted neutron intensity by effectively producing Pu238. SOLUTION: Burnable poison addition concentration of a fuel rod in a fuel assembly is set so that poison property considered from neutron absorption disappears almost at the termination time of an initial first cycle or at the termination time of a second cycle. Before start of the initial second cycle or start of the third cycle, a fuel rod to which at least Np237 is added, among Np237, Am241, Am243, and Cm244, which are MA nuclides, is arranged at at least either one of the position in a control cell directly surrounding the control rod inserted or removed during an operation or the outermost periphery position of the reactor core.
