Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for winding a steel strip, by which method, edge breakage caused at an edge of a hot rolled coil can be surely prevented by winding the steel strip after hot rolling into an appropriate coil shape without using special equipment. SOLUTION: When a leading edge portion or a trailing edge portion of the steel strip 5 passes a side guide 1 for centering, a guide member 1b for guiding the edge portion 5b in the width of the steel strip on the lower surface 15b side in a so-called up-end state is positioned at a centering position, and a guide member 1a for guiding the edge portion 5a in the width of the steel strip on the upper surface side 15a in the up-end state is receded from the centering position.
