Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna having low electrical impedance and a mechanical strength to maintain an optimal shape against stress forces from assembly steps of a tire to the time of use. SOLUTION: A composite antenna is composed of a core 36 composed of polymeric material and a conductive layer 32 formed in intimate surrounding contact with the core 36. The core 36 composed of the polymeric material provides elasticity to be able to elongate when subjected to stress forces within a tire 12. The conductive layer 32 is fabricated from a low impedance material and may be configured as a composite wherein an inner base metal is selected as a strength member and an outer metallic layer may be applied for electrical performance enhancement.
