POSITION DETECTION APPARATUS AND POSITION CONTROL APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection apparatus and a position control apparatus which can be downsized by a simple structure and have mechanistic flexibility. SOLUTION: The position detection apparatus comprise a filamentary body 1 and an optical sensor 4. The filamentary body 1 is formed by twisting together two filamentary bodies 1a, 1b, which are thinner than the filamentary body 1 and forms a spiral pattern on its surface as a two-color repetition pattern. The optical sensor 4 is placed facing the filamentary body 1 and comprises light-receiving elements 2a, 2b and a light-emitting element 3. Light emitted from the light-emitting element 3 is reflected by the surface of the filamentary bodies 1a, 1b. The light-receiving element 2a detects incident light reflected by the filamentary body 1a. The light-receiving element 2b detects incident light reflected by the filamentary body 1b.
