Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical effective for preventing and treating osteoporosis, and to provide a food for the same. SOLUTION: This pharmaceutical contains calcium L-arabonate, wherein the pharmaceutical is developed based on such discovery that the calcium L-arabonate of which the function has not been known yet exhibits more rapid and sustainable absorbable properties as calcium than those of well-known calcium salts and enough recovers an amount of bone salts decreased by the osteoporosis. The calcium L-arabonate especially remarkably develops its effect on an aged person in whom the amount of the bone salts is decreased and the calcium absorbing ability is deteriorated, so that the osteoporosis is prevented and treated by the pharmaceutical.
