FOLDING MACHINE, AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING MIXING OF DEFECTIVE PAPER FOR THE FOLDING MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding machine and a method for preventing mixing of defective paper for the folding machine, capable of detecting unnecessary folding of the paper with higher accuracy using a simple structure, thus preventing mixing of the defective paper into a product. SOLUTION: In this folding machine, a folding blade 6 mounted on a folding body 2 pushes the paper 1 conveyed so as to be supported on the surface of the rotating folding body 2 in between a pair of folding rollers 7, 7 rotating in the mutually reverse directions, and the paper 1 is folded to form a signature at a nip portion between the folding rollers 7, 7. The folding machine is equipped with a displacement detection device 20 for detecting a vibratory displacement of the folding rollers 7, 7, and an annunciating device 24 which annunciates the detection result detected by the displacement detection device 20 if the vibratory displacement of the folding rollers 7, 7 exceeds a predetermined value.
