Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for fireproof-coating of a steel material surface, excellent in rust prevention and close adhesion with the steel material surface (a metal surface), securing an excellent anti-rust property even against existing generated rust or an already presenting coated film, excellent in close adhesion with the generated rust or the already presenting coated film and exhibiting excellent fireproof property. SOLUTION: This method for fireproof-coating of the steel material surface is characterized by applying an anti-rust undercoating material containing (A) a chelate-modified epoxy resin, (B) a ketimine compound, (C) an anion-exchanging type compound and (D) an organic solvent, and then laminating an expandable fireproof material.
