Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide in this invention the method of interchanging the brushless exciting device (10) for a generator having a stationary exciting system (58). SOLUTION: This method includes a step (42) of measuring a plurality of dimensions of the brush less exciting device, a step (52) of obtaining moment of mass inertia in a rotating part of the brushless exciting arrangement, a step (56) of forming the stationary exciting system having moment of mass inertia substantially equal to that of the brushless exciting device, a step of removing the brushless exciting arrangement (10) from the generator, and a step of mounting the stationary exciting system (58) in the generator.
