Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily adjusting the chromaticness, contrast, and luminance of an image by a user. SOLUTION: The present invention provides a system and a method for setting output characteristics of an image rendering apparatus. Image data encoded with respect to a red-green-blue color space are received in a vector form D. Respective values of D correspond to a red component value, a blue component value, and a green component value. Then, data representing a contrast adjusting matrix C are received, and the value of a contrast adjusting matrix C is a constant value related to the contrast adjustment of selected image data. Then, data representing a chromaticness adjusting matrix S are received, and the value of the chromaticness adjusting matrix S is a constant value related to the chromaticness adjustment of the selected image data. The value of the chromaticness adjusting matrix S also corresponds to the value of an m×n masking matrix A. Then, a brightness adjusting matrix B is received. The value of the brightness adjusting matrix B is related to the brightness adjustment of a red component, the brightness adjustment of a green component, and the brightness adjustment of a blue component.
