IMAGE FORMING METHOD AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of a one-pass system capable of avoiding a cost increase in the number of photoreceptors, compared to the case where a common photoreceptor is used for forming first and second toner images, while reducing downtime caused by a processing unit malfunction. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a first processing unit 41YC for developing latent images on a first photoreceptor 42YC into first toner images with developing devices; a first transfer unit 20 for transferring the first toner images on the first photoreceptor 42 onto a first side of transfer paper P; a second processing unit 81Yc for developing latent images on a second photoreceptor 82YC into second toner images with developing devices; and a second transfer unit 60 for transferring the second toner images on the second photoreceptor 82YC to a second side of the transfer paper P.
