ENTRY METHOD OF TELEPHONE NUMBER AND TELEPHONE SET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interface for making a phone call in an easily understandable way because it is required to depress a telephone directory function button and to make long depression of a dial button in the case of obtaining a telephone number of an opposite party from a telephone directory of a telephone set provided with the dial buttons for entering the telephone number and characters and with the telephone directory, and because a top of the telephone directory is displayed just after the former operation, the telephone number is searched by operations or the like for entering a capital letter of the opposite party succeedingly resulting in that the operations are complicated and take much time for the operations, and a character size of characters described on the dial buttons is too small to identify. SOLUTION: In a standby state of a telephone set disclosed herein and provided with a telephone directory and a plurality of dial buttons to which telephone numbers and characters are respectively assigned, when any of the dial buttons is depressed, the character assigned to the depressed dial button is entered, the telephone directory is searched by the entered character and the result is displayed.
