Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for reducing nitrogen oxide in combustion flue gas. SOLUTION: This method includes: a stage for combusting fuel 22 inside a main combustion zone 14 such that a flow of the combustion flue gas including at least one nitrogen oxide species is generated; a stage for establishing a fuel rich zone; a stage for forming a plurality of reduced N-containing species inside the fuel rich zone; a stage for injecting overfire air into the combustion flue gas in the downstream of the fuel rich zone; and a stage for controlling a process parameter such that conditions that the reduced N-containing species react on the nitrogen oxide inside an OFA zone to generate elementary nitrogen are set, so as to reduce concentration of the nitrogen oxide.
