SOLUTION: This base isolation system 1 has a plurality of support mechanisms 3 arranged at an interval in the horizontal direction and mounting and movably supporting the structure 2 in the horizontal direction, a horizontal vibration restoring mechanism for lengthening horizontal vibration of the support mechanisms 3 to a long period and a horizontal vibration attenuation mechanism 4 for damping the horizontal vibration; and is provided for converting horizontal directional vibration applied to the structure 2 into vertical vibration, by floatably placing the structure 2 in the support mechanisms 3.
