RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL STORAGE BUILDING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radioactive material storage building which has a structure raising shielding function of streaming radiation and sky-shine radiation in accordance with the siting conditions even in a case that the site is narrow and the distance between an evaluation point outside the site boundary and the building is short. SOLUTION: In the radioactive material storage building having a storage room for storing radioactive material storage vessels containing radioactive material or spent fuel, an air suction 5 for taking cooling air from outside in the storage room, and an air exhaust 6 for exhausting the air in the storage room to the outside, an air exhaust duct 4 connecting the air exhaust 6 and the storage room is bent a plurality of times for attenuating streaming radiation which is radiation emitted from the radioactive material and leaking from the storage room along the air exhaust 6. For lowering the dose of direct radiation and the sky-shine radiation from the storage building, openings of the air intake and exhaust are headed to the direction with longer distance between an exposure dose evaluation point and the building.
