COMPOSITION CONTAINING ANGELICA KEISKEI AND CHITOSAN OR DERIVATIVE THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition having high functionality, e.g. a food and a blood cholesterol ameliorating agent composed of the composition by using stems and leaves of Angelica keiskei or a processed material thereof and chitosan or a derivative thereof, to provide a composition suitable for drinking use without deteriorating functionality essentially possessed by the stems and leaves of the Angelica keiskei or chitosan contained in the composition and improved so as to scarcely cause floating or aggregation and precipitation even when the chitosan is contained in the stems and leaves of the Angelica keiskei. SOLUTION: The composition contains the chitosan or the derivative thereof and the stems and leaves of the Angelica keiskei containing ≥80 mass% of particles having ≤150 μm particle diameter. The composition comprising the stems and leaves of the Angelica keiskei and the chitosan or the derivative thereof has excellent blood cholesterol improving actions as compared with those of the Angelica keiskei alone.
