ELECTRONIC CAMERA AND ELECTRONIC CAMERA SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology for securely photographing a subject without missing a shutter chance when the subject is completely ready. SOLUTION: This electronic camera has an imaging part, a detection part, and a timing decision part. The imaging part performs imaging operation to generate image data by imaging the subject. The detection part performs detection processing for detecting the position of a face area of the subject. The timing decision part makes the detection part perform the detection processing and decides whether the movement quantity of the position of the face area is within a specified range based upon comparison with the position of the face area which is detected before each time the detection processing is performed. The timing decision part when deciding that the movement quantity is within the specified range in a specified period or at a specified comparison frequency, commands the imaging part to perform the imaging operation.
